Visión y Compromiso expands the Network of Promotoras nationwide!
Who We Are: Established in 2000, Visión y Compromiso, is a nationally respected organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underrepresented communities and community transformation by integrating promotoras. Visión y Compromiso brings together promotoras, community health workers (CHWs), community leaders, and community-based organizations with a united vision toward a dignified and healthy life for all. Today, Visión y Compromiso is the largest organization in California providing comprehensive and ongoing leadership development, capacity building, advocacy training, and support to over 4,000 promotoras and CHWs. Our Network of Promotoras offers guidance and direction for our organization, resulting in innovative programs and policies that respond to the needs of promotoras, CHWs, and the communities they represent. Visión y Compromiso connects promotoras, CHWs, and organizations representing a united voice and mission towards a healthy and dignified life for all in our communities.
Monthly Virtual Cafecitos: Visión y Compromiso convenes monthly Cafecitos Virtuales in partnership with promotoras from a growing number of states across the US. Our National Network of Promotoras and Community Health Workers includes representatives from 30 states. The 90-minute monthly meetings are hosted via Zoom on the first Wednesday of each month. Facilitated in Spanish, this space is where promotoras and CHWs from throughout the U.S. can connect to share resources, information, and training and identify and advance advocacy priorities at both state and national levels.
Visión y Compromiso aims to create a space that honors the dedication of promotoras providing service from the heart to their communities.
