Asthma Program
“An important role of the promotoras in the community, and as asthma home visitors educators open a safe and collective opportunity as safe trusted messengers. The relationship with Latino individuals and families severely impacted by asthma in order to reduce asthma triggers and decrease symptoms through education, assessment and environmental trigger remediation. Incentives to support education and the use of supplies: Air cleaners, known as air purifiers, improved the indoor air quality. Pest control to prevent and eliminate pest infestations. Promotoras built relationships with families and provide a “servicio de corazon” (service from the heart). Las voces solo son escuchadas cuando generan eco, que se escuche en todos lados; “la salud es un derecho” Visión y Compromiso de la mano de los promotores de salud en el camino hacia una vida digna y sana.
