Visión y Compromiso continues to expand its network of promotoras nationwide!
Who We Are: Established in 2000, Visión and Compromiso is a nationally respected organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underrepresented communities. Today, we are the largest organization in California providing comprehensive and ongoing leadership development, advocacy capacity building, and training to support more than 4,000 promotoras and community health workers. Our Network of Promotoras, CHWs, and Community Leaders provides guidance and direction to our organization, resulting in innovative programs and policies that respond to the needs of promotoras, CHWs, community leaders, and the communities they represent. Visión and Compromiso unites promotoras, CHWs, community leaders, and organizations to represent a single voice behind a vision and mission for a healthy and dignified life for all our communities.
Monthly Virtual Cafecitos: In partnership with advocates in numerous states across the country, Visión and Compromiso hosts monthly Virtual Cafecitos! Currently, our National Network of Advocates, CHWs, and Community Leaders includes representatives from 30 states.
The 90-minute monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom. Facilitated in Spanish, this is a space where advocates, CHWs, and community leaders from across the United States can connect to share resources, information, and training, and identify and promote advocacy priorities at both the state and national levels.
Visión y Compromiso aims to create a space that honors the wonderful daily work that promotoras provide to their communities through heartfelt service.
